Every April, the National Mah Jongg League releases a new card — and every April, players everywhere scramble to decode it.
Start with the Quints
Quints are the rarest hands and often the highest scoring. Identify them first so you know which tiles to hold early in the game.
Group Hands by Structure
Most hands fall into patterns: runs, pairs, pungs, and kongs. Once you recognize the structures, you can scan a section in seconds.
Pick Your Go-To Hands
Every experienced player has 5-8 hands they default to. Build that repertoire and you will always have a path even on a cold wall.
